Before You Book: The Rules That Keep Everyone Safe
Asbestos only.
The bin is dedicated. No general waste, no timber, no 'just this one bag of other stuff'. A contaminated load can't be accepted at the facility.
Wrapped and sealed.
All asbestos must be double-wrapped in heavy-duty plastic and sealed before it goes in the bin, never loose. Do not line the bin with one large sheet and then wrap it as one piece only. Bags must be a maximum of 1200mm x 900mm and weigh less than 25kg.
Keep it damp, keep it whole.
Wet the material down and don't break it up. Dust is the danger.
Know who's allowed to remove it.
In NSW, a homeowner can remove up to 10 square metres of bonded (non-friable) asbestos without a licence. Anything over that needs a licensed removalist, and friable asbestos always does, no matter how small the amount.
Licensed disposal, documented.
Your asbestos goes to a facility licensed to receive it, disposed of properly, not dumped.
Not sure if it is asbestos?
If you’re unsure whether you have asbestos it will be cheaper to treat it as such, rather than dealing with a contaminated load of mixed waste later.
Asbestos has its own rules, and they exist for good reason. Here’s what applies to every asbestos bin we deliver:
If any of that raises questions, that’s what the phone is for. Call us and we’ll talk you through it, no judgement, no rush.

Questions Trades Ask Us
Can asbestos go in a normal skip bin?
No, never, not even a small amount. It needs a dedicated asbestos bin, and a general-waste load found to contain asbestos can’t be accepted at the sorting facility.
How do I know if it's asbestos?
If your home was built before 1990, treat fibro sheeting, eaves, bathroom wall linings and corrugated roofing as suspect until proven otherwise. When in doubt, have a sample tested by an accredited lab before you disturb anything, and call us if you want to talk it through.
Can I remove asbestos myself?
Sometimes. In NSW a homeowner can remove up to 10 square metres of bonded asbestos without a licence, but anything over that needs a licensed removalist, and friable asbestos always does. We don’t arrange removalists, but if you’re doing a small job yourself we can send you the safe handling and wrapping guidelines so the load’s ready for us to take. Give us a call and we’ll talk you through it.
How does the asbestos have to be prepared?
Double-wrapped in heavy-duty plastic, sealed, and kept damp. Nothing loose, nothing broken up. We’ll confirm the exact requirements when you book.
How is asbestos disposal priced?
In two parts. There’s a set fee covering delivery, collection and the paperwork side of it, then the tipping cost on top, which depends on what’s in the bin. Asbestos has to go to a licensed facility that charges its own rates, which is why it’s priced differently to a standard bin. Call us with the details of your job and we’ll confirm the full cost before you book. No surprises.
Where does it end up?
At a facility licensed to receive asbestos, disposed of according to EPA requirements. Not sorted, not recycled, not dumped, contained, the way it has to be.
I found asbestos mid-renovation. What now?
Stop work in that area, keep people away, don’t cut or break anything further, and call us. We’ll help you work out the next step, whether that’s testing, a licensed removalist, or a bin.
